Hazel Askew
Award winning folk singer
I feel incredibly lucky to have had Beth as a singing teacher. Her lessons really opened up my voice and have given me a solid grounding in technique, which has helped me to become a professional singer. I’m primarily a folk singer but Beth’s teaching techniques are relevant to many different genres of singing and the skills I learnt with her are still really useful to me today. Lessons with her are always a joy and she always ultimately just makes you sing better!

As a professional musician I’ve had the very good fortune of studying voice with the wonderful Beth Littewood. In no time my voice changed growing stronger with an extended range – my confidence soared! The materials used are inspiring and chosen to suite your personal musical tastes. Her professionalism is second to none, she is thorough, engaging and fun! I would wholeheartedly recommend her as a teacher.

Miss Littlewood made me feel very comfortable singing at the top of my lungs and experimenting with different techniques. When I left school I sang more and more until it became a big part of who I am today. She’s great! Proper quality.

Beth helped to build the foundation of a strong and robust vocal technique which I still call upon today and every day. She helped me to let go and to sing from my heart. Lessons were always fun and I was totally engaged with every session. I am really thankful. I have been singing professionally for a while now, but Beth is never far from my thoughts when I think of singing and all that it entails in such complex and meaningful ways.

Beth was my teacher from the age of 14 to 18 and in that time my voice and technique improved massively. Beth pushed me to be better every lesson and as my voice improved so did my confidence. She prepared me for my auditions, making me feel so secure in all the songs I sang. Beth is supportive, kind and truly cares about all of her students. I don’t know where my voice would be without her!

I’ve been having lessons with Beth for 9 years, and couldn’t wish for anything more from a singing teacher! Beth has covered a range of repertoire with me, focusing on Musical Theatre and classical music, and my vocal technique has advanced enormously under her guidance, and continues to do so. Beth always ensures that I am being challenged, and really encourages me to push myself in trying new styles, and improving my vocal and performance abilities. In addition to being a fantastic and rigorous teacher, Beth is hugely passionate, and lessons with her are always engaging and enjoyable. I can’t imagine having singing lessons with anyone else, and can’t recommend Beth enough.

I studied singing with Beth for eight years, from the age of 11 until 18, and I feel very lucky to have had such a wonderful, consistent teacher and mentor throughout those years. I got a solid foundation of technique as well as developing my own musical expression and voice. With Beth I completed Music Theatre exams grades 5 to 8 and a Diploma, all of which I passed with distinction. Beth always challenged me to work hard to realise my highest potential, whilst never losing the joy of singing. I think she strikes a great balance between freedom and discipline. She has a wealth of knowledge that spans many genres and always exposed me to new music.I have always wanted to sing and perform professionally and Beth has consistently believed in me and supported me generously, even after I finished formally learning with her. I am now in my 2nd year at Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying Performance and Creative Enterprise, and the technique and confidence I built with Beth serves my creative practice everyday. I am so grateful for my years learning with Beth, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wishes to develop their singing voice.
